Wammy's House - the orphanage where L, Mello, Near, and other gifted children were raised. The main points of interest are a library, with shelves full of books. A playroom, with a shelf full of video games. And the most promising avenue - a locked door leading to the cellar. Taped to the locked door there is also a mysterious piece of paper. The lock on the door accepts digits 0-9 and is 8 characters long. The password appears to be in the format ##/##/####

I just realized those dumb white boxes show up differently on mobile. Just imagine them as dumb white empty boxes

Ok, so the immediate thing I noticed is that two of the entries are definitely wrong. The entry under Where the Wild Things Are is actually 1984, and the entry under Lollipop Chainsaw is Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate / Monster Hunter tri 3G HD. Technically the entry under The Dark Tower is actually from the Gunslinger, but I'm not sure if that's relevant.

Ryuk edited the Dark Tower entry to be the Gunslinger.

I noticed the same thing as Watari. Wasn't sure how open we wanted to be about this without knowing what is inside

Ryuk edited the Dark Tower entry to be the Gunslinger. In other words, it means that the difference between Wild Things/1984 and LC/MH is significant.

Ok, so, I'm guessing the password will be some combination of 1984 and some way to put MH3U/MH3triG into numbers, but the latter has me stuck.

The grid must pertain to the puzzle in some way. It's easy to apply 3G to the grid, but less so for 1984.

Of note - Last of Us and Arkham Knight are not boxes. Just art.

Is C supposed to be highlighted? Was it highlighted in the first version?
Also it did not lock me out yet, so it seems like the answer is many

Hideki, how did you know going "turn the page" would get more of the book? And if so, do you know how to do it for the video games?

Well, you see Watari, when you finish reading a page in a book, you can turn it to get to the next page.
I don't actually know if there's any purpose to it, but I figured I would try and see what happened.

Since enough people asked, I will clarify that all the information you need to solve the password is in this sub-board.
I have also added a big hint to the opening post of this topic -
The password is in the format ##/##/####

There are numbers on some of the games.
12, 7, 4
There's the fact that one game is actually monster hunter 3.
And then of course 1984.
Ive tried just about every combination with it ending in 1984 and I'm just stumped. Especially since most of those combinations don't make real dates.

I feel like the code has to be linked to 1984 and MH3U. Nothing of the other books really stands out, but the fact they're different must be significant.
